What is included
Every position documented on the Log is included in the track record from the date of the public entry. Pre-existing positions held before the Log started are excluded; the goal is to track public, written, pre-committed theses, not to retroactively curate.
How performance is measured
Public-market positions are measured from the entry date noted in the Log to the close date noted in the Log, against the relevant benchmark (S&P 500 for equities; for options, the absolute return alongside the underlying's move over the same window). For positions still open, the mark is the most recent close.
Private-market positions are marked at the most recent priced round; secondary marks are noted where available. Unrealized private marks are not equivalent to realized returns and are flagged as such.
What this is not
The track record is unaudited. It is the author's record of his own positions, with disclosure standards described above and on the Standards page. It is not a GIPS-compliant performance report. It is not a representation of what any other investor would experience. Past performance does not indicate future results. Nothing on this page is an offer to manage capital.
Methodology updates
If the methodology changes, the change is announced on this page with a date stamp, and the prior methodology is archived. Methodology is updated rarely and only with reason.
Past performance is not indicative of future results. Numbers reflect logged positions only and are not audited.
