Ranitomeya Imitator Chazuta

The Imitator Chazuta is the most underrated thumbnail in the hobby. With striking colors and an extremely bold attitude this is one imitator that really gives you the full experience of frog keeping in a tiny package. They make a great thumbnail for beginners as they will easily thrive under the right conditions exhibiting breeding behaviors such as huge appetites, loud calling, and tadpole rearing.

As with all Imitators the older more settled in females do tend to get aggressive and are best kept in either (sexed) pairs or small groups in large tanks. Imitator Chazutas can not swim and do not do well with water features, they will however deposit tadpoles in the smallest amount of water so bromeliads are complete in house nurseries.
